I’m filing this story completely into the rumor category and it’s not because I don’t want it to be true, more like I’m skeptical of random T-Mobile employee comments. While this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about a possibleLumia 900 launch on T-Mobile, this story isn’t doing much to convince me. I completely trust the boys atWMPowerUser, however, I don’t know that this isn’t just a random T-Mobile employee who was just trying to act all-knowing. WMPowerUser indicates the employee spoke “confidently” about the Lumia 900 arrival. I’m confident if this was true, we’d be hearing more about it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked into a T-Mobile store and been told “confidently” that T-Mobile would carry the next iPhone.
I’m always skeptical that employees know these things and not a single blogger, journalist or tech blog has been able to verify it. Why one T-Mobile employee seems to know something that nobody else is talking about has me asking you to take it with a grain of salt. That doesn’t mean these situations aren’t unheard of, this very well could be the real-deal. This employee may have overheard a conversation, talked with a Nokia sales rep etc. On the flipside, the first Lumia 900 rumor comes from Paul Thurott, who is generally a very more source for Windows and Windows Phone intel.
Still, I’d like it to be true, if for no other reason than to give a insignificant boost to T-Mobile’s Windows Phone lineup.
